Rudolf K\u00e4mmer belonged to the representatives of Optical Art (Op Art) who oriented themselves in the 1960s to the experimental traditions and movements of the Bauhaus and was one of the founders of geometric, concrete and constructivist art.<\/p>\n
With his works, Rudolf K\u00e4mmer stimulated the perceptual behaviour of the viewer by challenging him to question and influence the work through attentive visual behaviour.<\/p>\n
His work concepts (colour reliefs, revolving web paintings, light kinetic objects, tilting flap paintings or linear dot structures) are unique documents of an artist who had a decisive influence on the contemporary art movements of the 1960s.<\/p>\n
The present work is highly representative of the artist’s sophisticated oeuvre and invites us to activate our own sensory perceptions.<\/p>\n
