The pendant lamp with side pull by Florian Schulz from 1980 is exemplary of the functional lighting design of late modernism in Germany. A characteristic feature is the side pull mechanism, which allows the lamp to be adjusted to any height, thus enabling the lampshade to be positioned at a variable distance of between 40 and 100 cm from the power source. Power is transmitted by a brass roller, which was very rarely used in this way.
Made of brass, the lamp displays the craftsmanship and durability typical of Florian Schulz and focuses on function, proportion, and materiality.
