A pair of chairs by Gaetano Pesce for Vitra before 1995.
In 1984, two prototypes of this chair were created in Gaetano Pesce’s studio, but only one of them has survived.
From 1987-1995, around 50 chairs were produced.
There was a further series in 2005, in which only 100 pieces were produced.
Black glass fiber reinforced polyester, with a red line.
This type of signature in the form of the red line varies from chair to chair.
The two chairs offered here are from the early phase.

The “Greene Street” chair by Gaetano Pesce, named after his original studio on Greene Street in New York’s Soho district, is charming and witty.

The chair, plain black, stands out from the otherwise rather colorful oeuvre of the architect, artist and designer Pesce. Only a red line as a sign of the unique piece adds a splash of color.
These two armchairs are from an early version.
