Centertable by Lothar Klute, featuring a custom-fitted glass top and a frame made of forged bronze.
 
The table has eight forged legs that converge in the center to form a forged base.
 
The glass was poured into a mold, shaped while still molten, and signed. A specific bronze alloy enabled the artist Lothar Klute to forge the bronze. The glass was produced using a special melting process and custom-fitted to the table.
 
Lothar Klute’s signature is stamped into the bronze as “K2001” and into the glass as “Klute.”

“The glass objects are placed in the cooling oven at 550 degrees and allowed to cool over a period of up to 14 days to relieve the stresses within the glass. Only then can it be determined whether the casting was successful. All traces of the manufacturing process—such as inclusions, matte spots, bubbles, and streaks—are an authentic expression of traditional craftsmanship. Free-form glass casting ensures an appealing look and feel.”
 
The Lothar Klute studio had about five employees, and as a result, only a few pieces were created over the years.
