The armchair J. Lang, designed in 1987 by Philippe Starck for Driade Aleph, is a striking, sculptural piece of furniture with a strong iconic character. The generously dimensioned seat conveys comfort, while the clear geometric basic form gives the armchair a calm, almost architectural presence.
The frame is made of cast aluminum and steel, covered with black leather.
Signed “Aleph by STARCK” on the underside of the aluminum base.

As an object, the J. Lang appears less restrained than deliberately staged—a piece of furniture that not only wants to be used but also admired, and which significantly shapes the room with its strong form.
